Puppies are great chewers, chewing is not wrong for a dog, it is natural, they love doing it and they are genetically programmed to do it.

Most people don't like their houses being chewed, so a compromise has to be established along the lines of - I give you lots of wonderful things to chew and you leave the house alone. This usually works fine but it takes time to get this message across. To Puppy everything is fair game and electrical cables are top of the list. Trailing cables are a lethal toy for a puppy, so go around the house, make a note of all low level cables and consider how you are going to protect your puppy from their dangers. In some cases just reconcile yourself to removing the offending cables for the next few weeks or months. Put away table lamps or reroute their cables at a higher level.

The kitchen or laundry is a particularly hazardous area with washing machine, dryer and a host of other electrical appliances, ensure that puppy cannot get to cables or train everyone in the house to unplug appliances unless they are in use and puppy is restricted from getting into that area.
